Shelley L. Albaum

Ms. Albaum joined the firm as a partner in 2008, with almost 25 years’ experience practicing family law. She has successfully represented clients in all aspects of family law, including complex high-asset and high-income cases and high-conflict child custody cases, as well as interstate and international child custody and interstate child- and spousal-support matters. She has also represented parties in several appellate cases which resulted in published opinions. Ms. Albaum is highly respected among her peers for her knowledge and litigation skills. She has written and lectured extensively to state and local bar associations and other national, state and local continuing education providers on a variety of family law topics. Among her many notable publications, she authored an amicus brief in the California Supreme Court’s landmark child custody case of Montenegro v. Diaz (2001) 26 Cal.4th 249, and for the past 18 years, has written the annual Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Family Law Colloquium Handbook. She is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section and for several years edited the Section’s annual Family Law Symposium Handbook. Ms. Albaum is AV-rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Registry. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctorate Degree summa cum laude from the University of West Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice law in all State Courts throughout California, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
